Pickleball Club celebrates first anniversary of Pickleball courts

Jo-Anna Kikel

The Quail Creek Pickleball Club celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of Quail Creek’s 16 pickleball courts on December 15. Club members and other residents of Quail Creek are using the courts, honing their skills and having a great time.

Club members are very excited to be hosting the club’s second annual Play Day with SaddleBrooke Ranch at Quail Creek on February 19. Teams are being signed up, logo tee shirts are ordered and lunch will be provided by the Grill. Play starts at 9:00 a.m. with 24 Men’s and Women’s Doubles teams and, after lunch, 16 teams will take on SaddleBrooke Ranch in Mixed Doubles. Everybody is invited to come down to the courts and watch some good pickleball being played.

Also in the works are club tournaments and parties during February and March. For the second year, the club will be hosting the Green Valley Senior Pickleball Games March 2, 3 and 4 at Quail Creek.

The club offers beginner and intermediate lessons to its members. Open play for members takes place every morning with assisted play for beginning men and women offered two mornings a week. Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles are played on rotating Wednesdays. For information on membership, send an email to [email protected].
