The Green Valley Chapter Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) sends its sincere thanks for the generous outpouring of support for its annual Food for the Troops collection conducted from July 1-4. In addition to the groceries, residents donated $400 in checks for the Chapter’s Turkeys for the Troops program. Each November, 30 turkeys and 30 gift cards are purchased for the junior enlisted personnel in the 162nd Fighter Wing, Air National Guard in Tucson. This enables the troops to have a festive Thanksgiving celebration with their families.
Especially appreciated was the number of people who bought tickets for the 50-50 raffle. The Chapter got another $297 towards the purchase of turkeys and the winner, Joe Carlone, got $296.
