It was a sad day for the Lady Putters when the men bested them for the second year in a row in the annual Battle of the Sexes contest.

With 36 couples participating, the men had the lowest gross score of 1,433 while the ladies’ score was 1,462.

The first place team with Peggy and Richard Brown and Gloria and Tom Contreras scored a 138 while Dee and Fred Waggoner and Wendy and Bob Van Dyck came in second with a score of 147.

Ironically it was Jane Cacas and Gloria Contreras who had the lowest score of the day, each with a 33. They were closely trailed by Tom Contreras and Ron Macuga who both scored a 34.

The Putters had a 50-50 raffle with the proceeds of $86 going to the American Cancer Society. Kim France won the other half.
