About the play:

It’s 1934, and the Cleveland Opera Company awaits the arrival of the world-class tenor, Tito Merelli. His fans have dubbed him the title of “Il Stupendo” and are eager to see him in the evening’s performance of Otello. The spoiled and rambunctious opera staff and stars soon turn the evening into a battle of egos and love affairs. Will Max, the assistant manager, straighten out this chaos and realize his lifelong dream?
