Lady Putters Seeking New Members

Peggy McGee

Due to the course closure for overseeding, the Lady Putters will not be meeting on the putting green during the latter part of September and early October. If all stays on schedule, they will resume putting on Oct. 13. When putting resumes, it will be on the large putting green rather than the temporary green used during the summer. Summer hours will still be in effect until November, so Putters will gather on the back patio of the Madera Clubhouse at 8:15 a.m. with putting beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The club invites women who would like to improve their putting skills or just have fun and meet new friends to join the group. One may putt twice to try out the club, but then must join. Dues are $20 per year and those joining between October and December will be paid through December 31, 2022. Current members may renew their memberships during the same time period. During the summer season, putting all 18 holes takes approximately 45 minutes, while after the winter residents have returned, it may take 1.25 to 1.5 hours to play. As a group the Lady Putters are there to have fun, so newcomers should not feel intimidated to give putting a try.

There is a $1 weekly greens fee which goes toward prizes awarded when one gets a hole in one on the mystery hole, the hole deemed to be the most difficult. No denim is allowed on the putting green and everyone must wear rubber soled shoes.
