Quail Creek’s Kino Lecture Series opened its 2018-19 season with Dr. John Klein’s “From Tucson to the Top of Everest” talk and slide show. Described by audience members as “hair-raising,” “breath-taking” and “heart-stopping,” Dr. Klein’s presentation was met with requests for a return engagement at Quail Creek. Generously returning his honorarium, Dr. Klein helped raise $900 for TWOQC’s Scholarship Fund. The audience of 180 plus included visitors from Tucson as well as patients of Dr. Klein’s and members of his hiking club. The lectures are co-sponsored by the Education Committee and TWOQC’s Scholarship Committee. Our next lecture is scheduled for January 14 and will feature a former National Park Ranger with tales of intrigue involving a 45-year hunt for original park posters.
