Bienvenidos to a world-class pottery show this Thanksgiving weekend in Tubac, just a short drive from Quail Creek!

Master potters Lydia Quezada (sister of Juan Quezada), her daughter Pabla and son Moroni are expected guests. Also featured is the gregarious family of Gloria Hernandez and Goyo Silveira. Their children Goyin and Fabiola and their families will also be at the show. These fine artists will bring fine pottery from the village of Mata Ortiz and demonstrate their methods of pottery making, painting and firing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Mata Ortiz pottery show hosts are Cathy and Marshall Giesy of Tubac. An open house RSVP invitation is Friday, November 27, 2015, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Giesy home. Reserve your day after Thanksgiving to greet our friends from Mata Ortiz and enjoy a posole feast with all the Mexican trimmings.

Let us know if you can come. For directions and further information contact Marshall or Cathy at 520-398-9705 or at [email protected].

If Friday is not convenient, please join the Giesy, Quezada and Silveira families on Saturday and Sunday, November 28 and 29 at the Tubac Center of the Arts. Saturday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday hours are noon to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
