Residents have confirmed incidents where someone claiming to represent a subscribed or contracted service will appear impromptu at your door to remedy a problem that you are unaware of. These impersonators will appear in uniforms with the correct logo identifiers on their truck or van. They wish to gain entry into your home to examine a possible problem with your receiver unit; honesty is not in their smooth talking vocabulary. Once they are in your home their treasure hunt begins. Stop: think how easy is it to get a tech or repair man to your home when your cable isn’t working properly? You will have an appointed date with a large time frame. Who are these guys?
Ask him to wait in his truck until you call your provider to confirm his identity and purpose and remember, you did not make the call. If he becomes insistent that you let him in your house or becomes pushy, shut the door and call 911. You did not make the call about a problem, so don’t let him bully you.
