For four years members of The Women of Quail Creek have been clipping, sorting and counting coupons and sending them to our troops in Italy and Japan and also giving them to Air and Army National guard units in the Tucson area. The club needs about $46,000 more in coupons to reach their goal of $1,000,000 by their tenth anniversary celebration in October.

When she heard TWOQC’s president make a plea for more coupons because the monthly numbers had been down with so many travelling, Christy Caldwell, Unit 12 Rep and member of TWOQC, organized a coupon/lunch party for her Unit. She emailed her Unit members and friends asking them to save their coupons and drop them off at her home three weeks prior to the coupon party date. And she began sorting them. At the luncheon on July 16, 10 ladies, eight from Unit 12 and two other TWOQC members clipped, sorted  and counted an unbelievable $10,866.60 in coupons. And they had fun doing it.

Thanks to all of you who have clipped, sorted and dropped off coupons for our troops over the years. It really helps the more junior members of the military.

If any other units would like to have a Coupon Party, please contact TWOQC’s Coupon Chairs, Lois and Janet Connell at 520-300-4135. Coupons for our troops may be dropped off in the box at the Connell sisters’ home, 539 N. Ramos Lane, at any time. If you can cut and sort the coupons by food and non-food items, that would be most helpful. Sorting them by denomination, too, would be super, but they will  even take full pages.
