TWOQC to make holidays merrier for YOTO students

JoAnn Haberer

Once again, The Women of Quail Creek will be asking members to assist Youth on Their Own (YOTO) of Tucson in making the holiday season a joyous one for homeless teens. The holidays are especially stressful for kids without families and donations of blankets, small gifts and gift cards will remind them that they are not alone and someone out there cares about them. The Women of Quail Creek will distribute cards with instructions for purchasing gifts for each of the middle school students in the program. Each card will provide ideas for the types of small gifts that would be appropriate for boys and girls in this age group. For older students YOTO would appreciate donations of new twin or full-size blankets and throws, along with a $25 gift card to a “fun” venue such as a movie theater, pizza restaurant or local store or online retailer that specializes in items popular with today’s teenagers.

You do not have to be a member of The Women of Quail Creek to donate to this fun and heart-warming gift drive. For more information contact Diane Quinn, Quail Creek-YOTO Liaison, at [email protected].
