The TRIPS committee sponsored a day filled with art on Tuesday, November 17.

The day included an introduction to the varied collections of the UA Art Museum by the Assistant Curator. There were paintings from the permanent collection, the sculpture exhibit of Jacques Lipchitz and an exciting hanging of Japanese art, which has been a long time coming out of the archives.

Also on display was the amazing art collection of Old Masters from the Kress Collection.

Following exploration of this form of art, the group had a wonderful introduction to the many ways of looking at photography by the retired Director of the Center for Creative Photography, Cass Fey. The archives contain over 100,000 photos and are available for research. The special exhibit was from the photography art collection of Dance Professor, Douglas Nielsen.

Having absorbed all that was on display, the QC group lunched at Paradise Café among students just off campus. It was a special day for the participants.
