Time to start planning for the 2017 Veterans Day Charity Golf Tournament

Earlier this year, Kathy and Denny Meyers donated a family heirloom grandfather clock as one of the many valuable prizes to be given away during the 2017 QC Veterans Day event. The clock was handcrafted over 50 years ago by Ira Lesher, master furniture maker, with wood harvested from the Meyer family farm in rural Greenwood, Pennsylvania.

The QC Veterans Golf Association uses the Veterans Day Tournament as a fundraiser to generate the money that it uses throughout the year to help local military families as well as veteran support organizations. Since 2013, the QCVGA has distributed over $20,000 to help organizations, such as the Tucson VA’s Fisher House, the 162nd Air National Guard Family Services and Camp Bravo’s transitional center for homeless vets.

Look for information on the 2017 Veterans Day Charity Tournament in What’s Happening and the QC Pro Shop. Tournament registration, prize raffle tickets and club membership information will be available Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Madera Clubhouse starting October 3. Come have some fun, get lucky and help us help our veterans.
