Ten easy ways to mess up a computer and how to avoid it

Joe Busboom, a very knowledgeable and popular speaker at Computer Club monthly meetings, is returning for the Tuesday, January 21 program in the ballroom at 7:00 p.m.

Joe has years of teaching classes and fixing computers, including many Quail Creek residents’ devices. Joe’s presentation will cover the ten most frequent mistakes made by computer users that can cause serious problems and will explain what the hapless computer user may have done to create the problem and how it could have been avoided.

Topics will include the importance of maintaining an updated device, preventing family and friends from infecting a computer, the perils of downloading free software, using the same password over and over, as well as dealing with other kinds of common threats to safe computing. The program topics are relevant not only to many electronic devices and not just laptop and desktop computers.

Everyone is welcome to attend and is encouraged to ask questions. This will not be a hands on event, so attendees need not bring their computers or tablets.

Those who are interested in learning more about the benefits of Computer Club membership are encouraged to come though membership is not required for this event or for any of the monthly meetings in the ballroom.
