Quigley Robichaud, who lived in Quail Creek for over 18 years, passed away last month at the age of 96. Known for her warm, engaging smile and a mischievous gleam in her eye, Quigley was ahead of her time as far as higher education was concerned when she worked her way through New York University majoring in journalism. It was there that she met her husband, Bob, of 56 plus years.

Inspired by her pioneering efforts, her neighbors on Longspur Place decided to start a scholarship fund in her honor. When members of her Tai Chi classes (she went four times a week) heard about this, they decided to pitch in, too. To date, $1220 has been collected and given to The Women of Quail Creek for a scholarship in Quigley’s memory. The fund will be used to help a woman who also wants to return to college to complete her education after taking a break to work or start a family.

What a wonderful tradition to remember someone who did so much in her life to make others happy.
