The sixteenth annual Rally for the Cure is coming Thursday, October 22, 2015!

The Quail Creek Ladies’ Golf Associations, the 18 Hole Club, 9 Hole Club and the Putters are busy planning the event once again in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen Organization.

That organization began in 1982, we are told, when Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, “she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.” That promise launched the global breast cancer movement. Information from their organization states that “Komen has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer beginning with a single grant for $28,000 in 1982 and growing to nearly $750 million in research support from basic biology to treatment for survivorship. Komen and its affiliates also support community programs to improve access to mammography, and quality screening services as well as educational efforts.”

We welcome all women in our community to take part in this fun and worthy event, from golfing to putting, to lunch and honoring cancer survivors.
