Quail Creek RV Club Goes to Lost Dutchman

Mary Jensen

Making friends around the campfire is one of the favorite activities of the Quail Creek RV Club. In early April, 11 rigs spent three days at Lost Dutchman State Park. Located at the foot of the Superstition Mountains just north of Apache Junction, the scenery is beautiful, and the weather was perfect.

Nearby Tortilla Flat is always a fun little place to visit and is good for lunch. After, most of the group took a relaxing, two-hour boat ride aboard the Dolly Steamboat on Canyon Lake.

Hiking up the mountain was a popular activity, followed by prickly pear margaritas at the Goldfield Ghost Town. Golf is usually on the agenda when available, and the most important activity for everyone—relaxing and visiting.

Our next trip will be to Verde Ranch RV Resort in Verde Valley. Trips are planned for the fall, winter, and spring by members who volunteer. There are close by, short trips like Bisbee, Catalina State Park, Kartchner Caverns, and also farther away, longer trips like Carlsbad Caverns, Moab, St. George, San Diego, and Havasu, to name a few. If you have an RV, or are thinking of getting one, come join us.
