Quail Creek residents sing in Green Valley Community Chorus

Judy Rooney

Americana is the theme for the Spring Concert of the Green Valley Community Chorus. A musical repertoire of patriotic songs such as God Bless America and the Battle Hymn of the Republic will entertain you as well as famous ones by American composers, Aaron Copland, Robert Frost and James McCray. Other music to be performed will be Down by the Riverside arranged by our conductor, Todd Wachsman. Todd is a doctoral candidate at the U of A’s choral conducting program. More familiar music will be an arrangement of Hush! Somebody’s Callin’ My Name by Brazeal W. Dennard, Shenandoah arranged by James Erb and No Time arranged by Susan Brumfield. Come hear this and more wonderful music at the Valley Presbyterian Church on Monday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from any chorus member and also from the GV Chamber of Commerce, GV Books, Creative Edges, the Book Shop, Nancy Pantz or at the door.
