The QCVGA makes generous donation for military families and students

On January 30, 2014, the Quail Creek Veterans Golf Association (QCVGA) presented two checks to the Green Valley Military Officers Association (GVMOAA). First was a check for $300 to help purchase layette items for new and expectant mothers of the 162nd Arizona Air National Guard. GVMOAA Auxiliary members will host a baby shower in March to give away layettes brimming over with essential baby supplies.

The second check, for $1,000, will fund a QCVGA scholarship for an outstanding cadet from one of the three local high school Junior ROTC units supported by GVMOAA. The JROTC scholarships will be awarded at a special GVMOAA dinner event in May at the Madera Clubhouse.

The QCVGA was able to make these donations because of funds raised by their highly successful Veterans Day golf tournament at Quail Creek. QCVGA President Tom Contreras said, “Your worthy charity goals and ours are similar in many ways and therefore we are more than happy to support them.”
