QCVGA and TWOQC team up for local veterans

This month’s The Women of Quail Creek Homeless Veterans’ Clothing Drive was made even more successful due to the support of the Quail Creek Veterans’ Golf Association. The QCVGA purchased over $500 worth of new socks, t-shirts and underwear and donated the clothing to the drive to make sure homeless veterans at the Tucson VA have access to clean, fresh undergarments this winter. Both men’s and women’s clothing were purchased since over twenty percent of the homeless veterans in the Tucson area are women.

The Quail Creek Veterans Golf Association directs proceeds from their charity events to local veterans’ organizations and felt that The Women of Quail Creek’s clothing drive was a great opportunity to not only help the Tucson VA but also support another Quail Creek club.

“We appreciate this donation so much,” said Anne Smith, Committee Co-Chair for the drive. “Yes,” echoed Co-Chair Karen Johnson, “the community gave boxes and boxes of gently used winter clothing, but the VA requires that underwear be new and in packaging. We are grateful to the QCVGA for helping us out with this special gift.”
