The Quail Creek Men’s Golf Association held its twelfth annual Member/Guest Invitational from Wednesday, April 9 through Friday, April 11. The Tournament Planning Committee, headed by Phil Wickey, lined up over sixty sponsors for this event. The tournament had 66 two man teams playing in 11 flights. Player registration was held Tuesday afternoon in the Madera Clubhouse where the sponsors had an opportunity to meet with the players.

The tournament started Wednesday afternoon with each two man team playing five nine hole matches within their flight. The winning teams in each flight won cash prizes and Pro Shop gift certificates.

A tournament raffle was held following the last day of play. Over 90 prizes included iron sets, drivers, putters and bags and the participants won GPS systems and golf foursomes at area courses. A Big Break and Chipping Contests were held on Wednesday morning and a Putting Contest was held on Thursday morning. Players participated in daily Closest to the Pin contests for cash prizes as well as a Hole-In-One contest for the opportunity to win a new golf cart and a brand new Infiniti automobile, courtesy of Infiniti of Tucson. Unfortunately, there were no Hole-In-One winners.

Finally, the tournament culminated with an amazing buffet banquet held at Madera Clubhouse Friday evening where the winners received their awards. The tournament was a tremendous success and much thanks need to go to the Tournament Planning Committee for their tireless effort.
