The Lady Putters held their annual Battle of the Sexes tournament on October 13, 2014. This fun event has the ladies versus the gentlemen as well as team competition. The individual winners of this year’s contest were Mary Anderson for the ladies and Tom Contreras for the gentlemen. The winning team was made up of Cathy and Allen Thiele and Wendy and Bob Van Dyck.

Following the tournament the Lady Putters had several raffle prizes along with a 50/50 raffle. Dee Waggoner, president of the QC Lady Putters, presented the proceeds from the raffle ticket sales to the Green Valley Military Officers Military Assistance Fund. The Lady Putters presented a check in the amount of $468.69 to the GV MOAA organization.

Steven Abel and Bob Atwater from the GV MOAA Chapter were on hand and thanked the Lady Putters for their very generous and timely donation. They informed the group that the GV MOAA organization will use these funds to help purchase Turkeys for the Troops in November for the Thanksgiving holiday. There are many needy and deserving families serving in our military and this donation will go a long way in helping some of them enjoy a Thanksgiving meal they might not otherwise have been able to afford.
