New QuailCreekCrossing.com offers more options for readers; invites feedback

The new QuailCreekCrossing.com website officially launches on August 15, 2013 with improved features and capabilities for all our readers. Taking your suggestions, we’ve redesigned the site to make it easier to read, search, and share your stories, along with the added flexibility to be viewed across all popular mobile devices.

Basic navigation can be found along the top toolbar (and is repeated in the sidebar) and includes forms to contact us, change your delivery address and update your Source Book listings. You’ll also find the Activity and Handy Number Guides from the Source Book (in abridged forms), along with submission guidelines, calendars of daily activities and the Anza Athletic Club schedule, and a list of this month’s advertisers who make our free publication possible.

Stories appear in the same order as they do in the newspaper. Clicking on the headline or ‘Read more’ buttons will render the full article, including any additional photos. Multiple photos will appear as thumbnails in a box. Clicking on a thumbnail will bring up the photos in a larger gallery view. Arrows will be on the left and right and clicking anywhere else on the screen will return you to the main article.

At the bottom of each post you’ll have the option of choosing the next or the previous available story to read. Articles can be sorted in a variety of ways. From the ‘Categories’ sidebar you’ll be able to view articles by issue. Certain stories will be tabbed with popular themes or club names. Clicking on a tab will show all stories that share the same tab. You’ll also be able to search the entire site via the search window at the top of the sidebar.

In addition to search, the sidebar contains many other links. The graphic/flipbook version of the current paper is still available. Beneath that, you’ll find the yellow pages from the Source Book. We’ve also moved the ‘This Just In’ feature to the main page. The Resources listing contains sites of local and homeowner interest, along with archives of the previous flipbook versions.

Beneath that is a listing of all the Pages available, which is a duplicate of the main navigation bar across the top of the site.

‘Categories’ allows you to view stories by month, front page or updated news.

A widget from the Weather Channel displays local weather and has a link to view weather around the world. Lastly, a widget from Family Features displays recipes and articles updated weekly at the bottom of the sidebar.

The site will be continually evolving to meet your needs. Have a suggestion or question? Please send feedback to us at https://quailcreekcrossing.com/contact/questions-comments/.
