Let’s Travel to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

Joyce Shumate

Program Coordinator Sonya Norman will present an overview of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

Did you know the museum offers several adult classes and trips they offer to the public? The classes and trips always focus on cultural and natural history. Some of the day trips are to collect minerals, view hummingbirds, learn about the Clovis Culture Paleoindians and the mammoths that they hunted.

The museum also offers multi-day trips, both domestic and international. This year, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will be going to Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde, Death Valley, an old dude ranch near the border town of Sasabe, and have planned trips to Mexico and Spain in the spring and fall.

For more information on these upcoming classes and trips, join us at the next Let’s Travel meeting, Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Kino Center, Ocotillo and Mesquite room. Following her presentation, there will be time to answer all your questions.
