Dust off those boots and dig out your cowboy and cowgirl hats. The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) will be hosting a Javelina Hoedown in the ballroom on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. D.J. Warren B will be spinning the records for line dancing, the “Chicken Dance,” and even a square dance. TWOQC dancers will be there to demonstrate the dances in case skills are rusty.

Tickets for the event will be $45, cash or checks payable to TWOQC. The menu will feature barbecue chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, vegetarian chile, cornbread, and salad, with a cookie for dessert. Both bars where attendees can purchase the beverage of their choice will be open. All proceeds from the Hoedown will go to providing funds for the many charities that TWOQC supports.

Besides eating and dancing, there will be an array of raffle baskets, a 50-50 raffle, and silent auction. This will be the final chance for buying tickets for the bronze Traeger Pro 575 wood pellet grill with cover, a $900 value. The winning name will be drawn at the end of the evening.

Pint-sized Hoedown glasses with a fanciful quail will be available for pick-up when you check in. However, the glasses, at $8, must be ordered and paid for ahead of time. That can be done whenever tickets are sold or by contacting [email protected]. Watch What’s Happening for sale dates. Glassware must be ordered no later than Sept. 20.

Tickets for the first Javelina Hoedown sold fast in 2019, so don’t procrastinate in buying your tickets.
