It’s coming – get your garden ready for monsoon

Desert gardening can often be a bit of a challenge. At the May 18 meeting of The Women of Quail Creek, presenter Eric Clark will impart tips and advice on how best to prepare gardens for the upcoming storms of the monsoon. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom. Eric is the horticulturist and landscape designer for Civano Nursery, a family-run business that strives to teach everyone how to embrace the desert and have a successful garden. A graduate of the University of Arizona in landscape horticulture, Eric has designed area gardens for the past 25 years, getting the most enjoyment out of creating native, xeric gardens. Eric will share with TWOQC his expertise and knowledge about how to protect plants from the torrential rains that are part of the cycle of the Southwest’s unique climate.

Tickets for the June 29 luncheon, American Cowgirls Celebrate the Fourth, will go on sale prior to the meeting. Tickets are $18 per person.

All members of TWOQC and guests who have not previously attended a TWOQC function are welcome. For further information visit the website womenqc.com or contact Peggy McGee at [email protected], 207-6188 or Janice Pell at [email protected], 867-6262.
