Introducing your candidates for Resident Board Member election

Margaret Blumberg, Dreama Fumia and Timothy G. Phillips are your candidates for the Resident Board Member election. Ballots will be mailed to all property owners in mid October. Vote for one candidate. Ballots must be received at the Madera Clubhouse by 5:00 p.m. MST on Friday, November 1, 2013.

The Resident Board Members serve staggered two year terms. One member is elected each year for the following two year term.

Margaret Blumberg

Having been Editor of the Quail Creek X-tra since its inception and serving six years on the Unit Representatives Committee uniquely qualifies Margaret Blumberg to be a member of Quail Creek’s POA Board of Directors. It is the next logical step in service to the community. Since she attends most board meetings, Q&A sessions and continues to attend Unit Rep meetings, she has a wealth of knowledge about Quail Creek. Some goals are to increase communications with residents, stifle rumors by communicating information in a more timely fashion, ensure prompt attention with a 24 hour minimum to residents’ concerns, encourage more volunteerism and show visible appreciation for resident volunteers.

As an instructor at the University of Louisiana for more than twenty five years, she served on numerous committees at all levels. Notable were her services as secretary of the University’s Faculty Senate and as chair of the University’s Faculty Welfare Committee, a position most often held by more senior faculty members.

Dreama Fumia

My husband, Skip, and I came to make Quail Creek our full time home in the summer of 2005. We moved here from Massachusetts and have never regretted leaving the long, cold winters there.

For the majority of my career, I was a program manager for an engineering support contractor doing business with the military, most recently with the U.S. Air Force. My specific responsibility was program execution for large programs; that is, ensuring the program met requirements, was properly staffed and funded and was responsive to its military customers. I was known for effective follow through, organization and communication!

Since coming to Quail Creek I have been active in the Quail Creek Ladies’ Golf Association, QCLGA, serving as its secretary, vice president and president. I was a member of the finance work group formed in 2008 that became the chartered Finance Committee, and I currently serve as its chair. I’ve represented both the QCLGA and Finance Committee to the Green Committee and currently serve as the Golfing Operations lead for the Finance Committee. I was a member of the first Quail Creek Leadership Seminar class in 2011 -– what a learning experience that was.

I am running for the POA Board because I feel a responsibility to continue to give back to this community with my time and energy. If elected, I would be honored to serve all residents of this community as a POA Board member. I ask for your support.

Timothy G Phillips

I worked forty-four years in major manufacturing companies within large corporations, advancing from sales positions to the CEO of nine of these companies with full responsibility for profit and loss results. Once retired, I moved to Quail Creek in 2006, where I’ve been actively participating in golf, tennis and the Ballroom Dance Clubs.

Throughout my career, I served on several boards of directors at golf and country clubs in Canada, Ohio, Tennessee and Colorado and held board positions in The United Way and Chamber of Commerce as well as being active in service clubs including the Jaycees, Lions Club and Rotary.

For two years I served as Chairman of the Advisory Board at the Country Club at Castle Pines in Castle Rock, Colorado, a real estate driven golf course development owned by Fidelity Castle Pines.

In Quail Creek I served six years on the Green Committee, five of these as the chairman. During this time the Quail Creek courses became a top performer among the Robson Communities. In addition, I wrote fifty plus published articles for the Quail Creek Crossing and the X-tra monthly news and presented an overview of Quail Creek golf operations at two POA Leadership Seminars and at the quarterly POA Board meetings.

As a result of my involvement in Quail Creek, I have developed an understanding of the Robson Corporate Management structure and the POA Board operation and would like to put this knowledge to good use and become involved in the overall operation of our Quail Creek Community.

I have the time, energy and professional background needed to help Quail Creek continue to grow effectively and financially.

My senior business management experience will bring additional expertise to the QCPOA management of the community my wife Gail and I are pleased to call home.
