Responding to the fun theme of All Aboard Noah’s Ark, residents of our community have been truly inspired in their support for The Women’s of Quail Creek’s third annual baby shower for expectant mothers of military families. Talented knitters have been hard at work making hats and baby blankets. Quilters have tapped their creative juices and contributed quilts to snuggle newborn infants, baby clothes, diapers and baby toys have already been generously donated; however, many more baby essentials are still needed in order to fill the baskets to be given to each of the twenty-five National Guard future moms that will be feted at this year’s August party.

Once again Laura Colbert has designed and constructed, with the assistance of Diana Van Rossum, a theme inspired diaper cake filled with newborn baby diapers and baby items that is sure to be a hit at the party. Tom Nease is building a wooden ark complete with small stuffed animals roaming the decks which will serve as a centerpiece. Karen Baker asked members of her yoga class to bring a donation for the shower instead of paying for sessions. $500 and four bags of baby items were collected. Thank you to all that have already contributed. Continued donations will ensure that this year’s shower will be a great success.

Please help TWOQC help the military families that sacrifice so much serving our country. Cash contributions are very welcome and will be used to purchase additional items which may be needed for the shower. Checks should be made out to TWOQC Charity Account. TWOQC appreciate your generosity and support.

Contributions can be dropped off at any time either at TWOQC meetings or to Peggy McGee at 1908 E. Longspur Place, [email protected] or 207-6188. Further information contact Peggy or Janice Pell at [email protected]  or 867-6262.
