The Women of Quail Creek’s fourth annual baby shower for expectant military families is almost here. The date is Saturday, April 18. Noah’s Ark is the theme.

This year’s celebration will honor 28 serving families expecting 29 new babies in the coming months. One family is having twins! Thirteen of the moms are actual serving members of the Tucson Air or Army National Guard. Fifteen of the dads are actively serving and one dad is a Wounded Warrior from the Army.

The baby shower committee has been hard at work making arrangements and collecting items for all the families being feted. Thank you to the many members of the community that have already generously contributed blankets, hand knitted items, toys, gender specific clothing and other items to help fill the baskets and totes to be given to each family. However, certain items are still needed. Donations of unisex baby clothing sized up to 24 months, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, rattles, teething rings, baby wash and shampoo and other new baby essentials are needed and will be gladly accepted and appreciated.

Monetary contributions, of any amount, are especially needed and will be used as a shopping fund to purchase additional items necessary to ensure each family receives like amounts. Checks should be made out to TWOQC Charity Account.

Donations and checks can be dropped off at any time to Pam Rodgers at 2640 E. Sawyer Road. Donations may also be put in the collection boxes located in the clubhouse lobby and at the Anza Athletic Club. Please make all contributions by April 15 to allow the committee ample time to prepare the baskets.
