Gathering Quail Creek talent ‘Under One Umbrella’

JoAnn Haberer

Calling all creative people! Do you quilt, sew, do woodworking or lapidary? Are you a host or hostess with “the mostest”? Whatever your passion, we’d love to talk to you about donating your talent to this year’s Women of Quail Creek Fashion Show fundraiser, “Under One Umbrella”. Every year, TWOQC puts on a spectacular event in February to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The funds raised stay in Arizona and are used for research and services to Arizonans battling cancer.

The event will be on Monday, February 25, in the Madera Ballroom. Your donation of pottery, art glass, woodworking items, jewelry, handmade cards, quilts, ceramics, gourds and other creative efforts will be most appreciated. You do not need to create an entire basket, we’ll group items into themed baskets, or present larger items as silent auction displays.

But what if you don’t “make things” but rather “do things”? How about hosting a special wine and cheese party for ten people at your home? Or offering your time as a computer “geek” to provide in-home help or file clean-up work? Do you love to cook? Well, it seems everyone in Quail Creek loves to eat, so how about offering a homemade dinner for six?

Whatever your skill or talent, we’d love to hear from you. Cancer has been a scourge for generations, but new treatments and options are giving hope (and years) to those affected. Here’s your chance to do your part for the cure! Contact Lisa Johnson, TWOQC Fashion Show chair, at [email protected] for more information.
