Baby shower for military families needs contributions

Janice Pell

Everyone loves babies. Babies have lots of needs: diapers, clothing, blankets, baby bottles, clothing—the list is endless. The happiness of expecting a baby is often offset by stress and money worries. The Women of Quail Creek asks you to spread joy to a military family by contributing items for a baby shower to be held for expectant mothers of the Armed Forces. The Quail Creek community’s generous contributions to past showers made those events very special. Twenty five National Guard moms to be will be feted at this year’s party to be held in August.

All Aboard Noah’s Ark is the theme of this year’s shower. Join the many Quail Creek residents that are already hard at work knitting, quilting and crocheting blankets, baby hats and sweaters to fill the baskets that will be given to each mom. Stuffed animals of all kinds, toys, baby clothes, diapers and other baby items are also needed to make the shower a success. Cash contributions will be used to purchase additional items which may be needed for the shower. Checks should be made out to TWOQC Charity Account.

Winter visitors and residents can drop off contributions at any time either at TWOQC meetings or to Peggy Mcgee at 1908 E. Longspur Place, [email protected] or 207-6188. For further information contact Peggy or Janice Pell at  [email protected] or 867-6262.
