Dear Tammy and Cheri,

The holidays are just around the corner and as soon as they fly by, spring is going to be here before we know it. My husband and I want to surprise our college-age children and plan a spring cruise when they are on break this year. We want to spend some family time together before they are completely out on their own! Do you have any advice when we should think about booking this?

Thinking Spring, Chandler Arizona

Dear Thinking Spring,

We certainly can understand how important family time can be. In general, most colleges have their spring break between March 3–March 28. The weeks of March 3 and March 10 are the two biggest weeks of college spring break.

You’ll need to figure out where you’d like to go, and how long of a cruise you’d like. If you’re going to take a Caribbean cruise with your family during the month of March, we recommend sticking with seven night cruises. For shorter cruises in March 2014, Disney will be your best family option.

The good news is that most school-age kids have spring break Easter week which happens to be late this year. Easter Sunday is April 20, 2014.

The week before and after Easter is peak season. You will want to reserve a cabin as soon as possible to get the best deal. We can help you plan your cruise. Put down a fully-refundable deposit now to lock in current rates and then just sit back and watch the rates go up! Bon Voyage!
