For all Quail Creek clay enthusiasts and those contemplating a brief summer get away, check out this 2015 clay festival.

A pleasant three hour drive from Quail Creek is the Silver City Clay Festival July 27 through August 2. A couple of overnight reservations are suggested for this quaint artsy town in southwestern New Mexico.

The festival gathers together artists, educators, entrepreneurs, families, youth, adventurers and lifelong learners to explore clay in its many forms as well as its impact on our history, present and future. There is even a mud pie contest and for lovers of games of chance a clay poker tournament fundraiser.

You are invited to be stimulated by conversations in clay with Santa Clara Pueblo sculptor Roxanne Swentzell and New Mexico Museum Foundation Director of the Office of Archeological Studies Dr. Eric Blinman.

Marvel at Mata Ortiz master potters Carla Martinez and Diego Valles entries into the international juried exhibition: Clay in the Garden.

Enjoy Clay in the Streets; dance and celebrate along with art exhibitions, juried market and special events.
